“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”
- Lao Tzu
We started with a vision. We stumbled and eventually formed the core leadership for our organization. We interviewed over 30 women who graciously shared their time and insights. We analyzed our findings and distributed our report. We developed our website. (Drum sound in the background … ba-da-bum) And now, we finally formed our leadership team for the workshops. Whew.
What next? We will be marketing and raising funds to finance the event. I must admit each stage of the project was challenging and every step was a process. But when I think about the amount of money we need to raise, I feel a great urge to stay in bed. It seems insurmountable. However, with each stage, we took one step at a time. Sometimes we got disappointed when we felt we accomplished little. Sometimes we were elated when we made great strides. But these moments were fleeting because we still had to take another step. One step and if need be, a deep breath, a stretch. But we paused, not stop altogether. That is why we came so far on our journey.
I mean, we have accomplished a lot of work. But we still need to do more work. We will not or can not allow any moment, the highs, lows, or the tedious, to overwhelm us. We have a job to do. We have an event coming soon.
Please consider helping us, whether sharing the flyer with your organization or donating some money. All the money goes toward funding the workshop-retreat. No one is or will be paid; we are all volunteers.
Based on the estimated expenses to hold a workshop for approximately 15 women participants, we need to raise approximately $10,000 to subsidize the event or the total amount of $18,000 so that all the participants could get a scholarship. We absolutely need your help.
This organization was not possible and it will definitely not flourish without your support.
Happy Holidays from the leadership team here at Platform.
